Make your customer addicted

Once upon a time, there was a company has acquired new product distributorship. The product is stove that using gas. However, during the time, nobody know about this product and they don't see the advantage of using gas stove to cook. Even though, the boss has spent a lot in advertisement and promotion activities to explain the benefit of using gas stove, the sales still very bad. The company was facing bankruptcy.

One day, this boss suddenly have an idea. He let his employees go to all the people in the town and give them free gas stove to use. Meaning, all stove are were free to give them. All the employees thought this boss must be crazy. However, they still have to follow instruction.

All the residents have heard about this news. They were very happy and called the company to get a free stove.

During the time, people still using woods to cook. When they got the gas stove, the housewives were noticing the wonderful benefits of using the gas stove very soon. They loved the stove so much.

Very soon, their gas was used out. Then, they have to go market and buy gas supply. Even though the price of the gas was quite high, the housewives already could not cook without the gas stove. So, they have to buy the gas supply.

Later on, when the stove was spoilt after some times, all the housewives have to go to the shop and replace with a new gas stove. But this time, they have to pay for it.

PS: In the process of marketing, even though we are in tough situation, we still have to think a different and new marketing idea. Think how to market to customer so that they will start from trying, experiencing our product, and then gain confidence and dependant on our product. This is a good direction for marketer to consider in their marketing strategy.
